Marie-Christine Albert

Marie-Christine Albert

Marie-Christine (B.Sc., M.Sc. Management, CRHA) is a specialist in Talent Development and Learning and co-fonder of CAP Training and Development. During the last 5 years, she coached several professionals with different profiles and issues. Marie-Christine has also developed and administered trainings for organizations in the field of construction, retail, health, public services and education.

Ms. Albert is passionate about pedagogy. She is a coordinator and lecturer at HEC Montreal, for which she has participated in several strategic projects. In the last 9 years, she has been teaching various courses at the first and second cycle in Organizational Behavior.

Ms. Albert promotes life and relationship quality to ensure the health, satisfaction and effectiveness of individuals and organizations. According to her, success in the broadest sense in assured by the development of our emotional intelligence and more specifically, our authenticity.

Emmanuelle Beaudoux

Graduated with a Masters in Management, Communication and Project Management, she has been working at the Chamber of Commerce of Maine et Loire Vocational Training Centre (Angers, France) since 1996.

Integrating the company as a teacher in Economics and Management, in 2011 she was named Head of the “Health Care” Division. This group encompasses Pharmacy, Hair Dressing and Optical Studies, training 420 apprentices each year.

In Optical Studies, she manages all courses ranging from Baccalaureat / A-Level to an Undergraduate Degree in Optometry (with Orsay-Paris Sud). She has developed Life Long Learning in this sector, specifically in refraction, contact lenses and child vision and for the elderly.

Emmanuelle will present the following lectures at the Educational Summit: " An Apprentice Optician : the keys to their success ".

François Boutrouille

François Boutrouille

François Boutrouille is the Emerging Technology Leader of HumanWare, a Canadian company specialized in the development, marketing and sales of innovative products dedicated to the visually impaired community. HumanWare distributes its products in over 40 countries worldwide.

After more than 10 years as a software designer in the fields of military communications, fleet logistics management systems and video surveillance systems, François joined HumanWare in 2002 to participate in the development of Trekker, the first handheld GPS product intended for the blind. He then took over the design of its successor, Trekker Breeze, an innovative and simple talking GPS product for blind pedestrians, which soon became a reference in the accessibility market.

In 2010, he started to work on products for people with low vision, especially on image processing in video systems dedicated to magnification and optical character recognition.

François is now head of new technologies in HumanWare’s Research and Development team, working with universities, research centers and high-tech companies to identify the most promising technologies to be introduced in the company’s products. This involves several technology fields from camera and optical systems to software architectures for embedded systems or artificial intelligence techniques like deep learning.

François is a French Engineer of the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Bretagne and holds a master’s degree in Information Technology and Signal Processing from Université de Rennes in France.

Elaine Grisdale

Elaine Grisdale FBDO FAAO qualified as a dispensing optician in 1985. Between 1989 and 2001 she worked in France, where she was International Professional Relations Manager for Opticianry and Optometry at Essilor liaising with professional bodies, vision scientists and academic institutions worldwide.

In 1998 she was instrumental in creating Varilux University, the first international training centre dedicated to presbyopia and the ageing eye.
Since 2007 she has been Head of Professional Services and International Development for the Association of British Dispensing Opticians helping to develop professional standards around the world.

She is a Liveryman with the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometrists, a member of the Silmo Academy Scientific Committee in Paris and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the European Academy for Optometry and Optics. She is the Director of Development of the International Opticians’ Association.

She will present the following lectures at the Educational Summit: "Around the Globe ..." and " Dare to be Different – Creating Opportunites With Bespoke Eyewear ".

Alain Lachambre

Alain Lachambre

Mr. Alain Lachambre has been the President of Audace Lunettes Inc., since 2006. Mr. Lachambre serves as an Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Teckn-O-Laser from 1993/2005 He served as a Director of Adsero Corp public organisation until February 4, 2005.

He also been board member in different public compagny who operate in food diet and hardware retail. Mr. Lachambre has been involved in the computer office industry for over 20 years. His career started with Canon Canada as a District Sales Manager, then he joined IBM as Account Manager for the expansion of the market segment of mid-range computer systems. His latest accomplishment was to develop a strong distribution in creator eyewear brand. In 1991 Raymonde Pigeon was promoted to a Dispensing Optician.

After working for thirteen years in various optical offices, she joined Essilor as a Sales Representative and then progressed to the role of Product Specialist.

Raymonde has been in her current role as a Training and Development Consultant for over a year. She and her colleagues are responsible for the development and implementation of the national training and development programs. These programs are designed and approved to specifically address business and sales goals for all major business partners.

François Piuze

François Piuze


Dr. François Piuze, optometrist, graduated from Optometry school of Université de Montréal in 1994. Over the course of his career, he has mainly evolved in multidisciplinary practices in collaboration with ophthalmologists. In addition to his professional activities, he has always trained and participated in numerous sports competitions. While having a very diversified clientele, Dr. Piuze has developed a more specific expertise in dry eye, contact lenses and sports vision. He is also an advisor and speaker in these areas. Charlie Saccarelli is the owner and operator of Chadwick Optical, a unique wholesale laboratory in Pennsylvania. He's worked in every aspect of eyeglass manufacturing and dispensing since the late 1980's, and is currently working towards his Master Optician's Designation. Outside of optical, he has spent time as a computer programmer, a pizzeria owner, and a senior business analyst. And if you need him to, he can perform a wedding as well. Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson is a Registered Optician, Certified Contact Lens Practitioner and Certified Ophthalmic Assistant who has more than 40 years experience within the eye care industry. After working for many years in the offices of optometrists and ophthalmologists, he became co-owner of Thompson Optics Ltd. in 1985. His specializations in keratoconus, post graft and post LASIK ectasia enable him to serve a broad spectrum of patients. Jim has been fitting scleral lenses for over 10 years and works closely with area ophthalmologists and optometrists.
